Hummingbird Theory’s Essence
There is something extraordinary about a room full of people who are truly present. When the environment is right, the energy shifts. Conversations deepen. Ideas emerge. Strangers become collaborators. That's the experience we set out to create every single time.
We named our company after the hummingbird because of what it represents: agility, intentionality, and the ability to find beauty and possibility in every space it enters. We bring that same spirit to our work; hovering over every detail, moving with purpose, and helping your event bloom into something unforgettable.
About Me
I'm a Chicago native, East Bay resident, and the heart behind Hummingbird Theory. I made my way to the Bay Area in 2012 after living and working throughout the Midwest, and from the moment I settled in the East Bay with my two sons, I knew I was home. This community has shaped me, inspired me, and ultimately called me into this work.
I hold a degree from the University of Michigan and a Master's in Labor and Human Resources from The Ohio State University. My career as an HR professional sharpened skills that translate directly into exceptional event planning that include clear communication, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to truly understand what people need, even when they're still figuring it out themselves.
In 2014, I founded Party In-Kindness, a charitable organization built on the belief that every gathering is an opportunity to give. Leading that organization transformed me into a fundraiser, a community collaborator, and a passionate event organizer. It also taught me something I carry into every project; no matter the size of the event, it has the power to make a real impact on people's lives. That truth is at the core of everything Hummingbird Theory does.
Event planning has always been my calling. I deeply believe that when a room is thoughtfully designed, when the details are handled with intention, and when people feel genuinely welcomed and seen, something magical happens. And the event becomes more than just an event…it becomes a memory, a turning point, a moment that mattered. That's what I set out to create every single time.
